Philosophy

The Northeast School of Taxidermy is dedicated to working within the framework of each students individual abilities. Resulting in knowledge leading to a successful career in commercial taxidermy. Therefore it is very important to keep small size classes.

School Calendar and Curricular offerings

In all cases students are urges to write or call the director for specific dates, as all courses are set-up by (open) mutual agreements. There are no set start and finish dates other than what each individual contract states. No student is finished till their listed specimens are all completed, etc.

Each course is planned special to fit the need of each student. It is planned to satisfy his/her goals in content, training time available, dates to fit student and school and cost to fit students budget etc Total Flexibility is the word Here! We will do our best to please!

Specialty Programs (ie: any individual with or without taxidermy experience wishing to brush up or expose him/her self to new skills and/or techniques) will, of necessity, meet with the director to establish areas of interest leading to specific time lines.

The full courses (Confirmed Programs), are the most popular courses, approximately three to six weeks in duration, is to a degree, contingent upon enrollment. This, to date, has been no problem since the fish program and the upland game bird program each constitute one half of the major program and are offered in succession.

Full Course....(300 to 400) three to four hundred hours depending on the speed of how well each student picks up the necessary skills needed to master each area of taxidermy. This by far is the most popular course offered for students looking to start their own business after completion of the classes.

Again...we try our best to fit each student to particular interests and budget based on your needs. We have yet to turn down anyone that is truly interested in learning taxidermy. If your just looking to brush up or learn a new area of taxidermy, we offer a breakdown of each subject area to suit your needs.

  • Please call or write for further information. If you are really serious in wanting to learn the correct way to a realistic mount from an instructor that has won numerous  awards, well known in the industry and with better than 30 years of experience...then look no further.
